Rumors have been circulating in the last few weeks that Rep. Liz Hager, a very liberal Republican, would not be seeking reelection this year in November. When asked in an email Hager wrote, "Don't you think 26 years is enough?" While that isn't a definitive No, it is pretty close.
If ultimately true, Hager will join Rep. Donald Brueggemann who also decided last month not to run for reelection. This means that Merrimack County District 12 - Wards 5, 6, and 7 in Concord - will have two new representatives at the State House after November.
Currently, Democratic Party officials are looking for two candidates to run for the open seats to join Rep. Jessie Osborne and Rep. Mary Wallner in running a slate campaign.
